Battery Types:
- Li-Ion and NiMH Battery Packs:
Used for Trail Tech helmet lights. The Li-Ion battery weighs less and runs longer. The NiMH battery is more cost effective but retains reliability.
Two battery packs can also be used to power the Trail Tech 8” Race Light, in order to avoid a DC conversion (you will need a special connector cable.)
- NiMH Vehicle Mount Battery:
Useful for DC conversions. Similar to the helmet light battery packs, but mounts to the bike and is recharged by the bike’s electrical system.
- Lead Acid Batteries:
For bikes with enough space for mounting, lead acid batteries are the most cost effective route, while providing well known reliability.
- Capacitors:
Capacitors can take the place of batteries in DC electrical systems. They store energy, then release it if the vehicle power drops momentarily. Will not provide power if the bike is turned off.
